Hearty Penny Terms of Use

By signing up for or using Hearty Penny, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. What Hearty Penny is

Hearty Penny is a free weekly email newsletter with dinner plans, recipe cards, shopping lists and estimated costs for a family of four. The weekly plan is free. We may offer optional paid features in the future; if we do, they will have their own terms and pricing, and you'll never be charged without signing up for them.

2. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older and in the United States to sign up.

3. Cost estimates are not guarantees

Prices, totals and "per serving" costs are estimates, shown as "about $86 before tax, based on Walmart prices in Converse, TX 78109 checked Nov 1, 2026; excludes pantry staples; prices vary by store and week." Actual prices vary by store, location, week, brand and availability. We don't guarantee any price, total or savings. Plans are designed so less goes to waste, not to promise any specific result.

4. Not medical or dietary advice

Our content is general cooking information, not medical, nutritional or dietary advice. Talk to a qualified professional about specific dietary needs.

Allergens: recipes and allergen tags are provided for convenience and may be incomplete. Ingredients and products change. Swaps may introduce other allergens; check labels. Always read product labels and check for allergens yourself before cooking or serving.

Choking hazards: Cut food to safe sizes for young children; whole grapes, nuts and popcorn are choking hazards.

Food safety: follow safe food-handling practices and cook to safe internal temperatures (poultry and leftovers 165°F; ground meat and egg dishes 160°F; beef, pork and lamb steaks, roasts and chops 145°F plus a 3-minute rest; fish 145°F). You're responsible for how you prepare and serve food.

5. Links to stores and other sites

We link to grocery stores and other third-party sites for convenience. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their products, prices, availability, content or policies. Hearty Penny is not affiliated with or endorsed by Walmart Inc. or any other retailer unless we say so clearly. Store-brand product names in our shopping lists (such as Great Value) are for identification only and do not imply any affiliation or endorsement. We don't currently use affiliate links. If we add them, we'll say so clearly next to the link and update these Terms and our Privacy Policy first.

6. Our content

Hearty Penny's recipes, plans, recipe cards, text, logos and graphics are owned by Jade Bee Enterprises L.L.C. or its licensors. You may use and print them for your own household's personal, non-commercial use and share emails with friends and family. Please don't resell, republish or mass-distribute them without our permission. Some images may be AI-generated "styled images" and may not exactly match the finished dish.

7. Your messages to us

If you reply with ideas, recipes or feedback, you allow us to use them to improve Hearty Penny without owing you anything. If we'd like to publish your name with a submission, we'll ask first.

8. Unsubscribing and changes

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We may change, pause or stop the newsletter at any time. The "200 families" free app is a goal we're working toward, not a promise of any feature or date.

9. Disclaimers

Hearty Penny is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Jade Bee Enterprises L.L.C. won't be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Hearty Penny, including food reactions, price differences or third-party sites. Our total liability for all claims related to Hearty Penny is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some laws don't allow certain limits; nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts in Bexar County, Texas, and you and we consent to that venue.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll change the effective date and, for important changes, tell subscribers by email. Continuing to use Hearty Penny means you accept the updated Terms.
